The Indian state government of Telangana and Taoyuan City of Taiwan signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on 21st February 2018 in Hyderabad, India.
The MoU was signed and exchanged between the Principal Secretary to Government, Jayesh Ranjan and Director of the Board, Taoyuan City, Robert Huang in the presence of Telangana IT Minister, KT Rama Rao.
The MoU was signed with an objective to enhance and for better technology partnership in the state. It was signed as a part of the concluding ceremony of the World Congress on Information Technology (WCIT) 2018 in Hyderabad, India.
KT Rama Rao proclaimed that the WCIT-2018, which is held in India for the first time, was a grand success with the participation of over 2,500 delegates, Industry pioneers, Heads of state and Academics from more than 80 countries.
KT Rama Rao further added that the new technologies will be beneficial to people and society at large and the state will go forward by using the technology in various sectors including health, education and agriculture.
Taiwan’s Taoyuan city is one of the booming cities with respect to Entrepreneurship, Innovation and Information Technology.
World Congress on Information Technology (WCIT) also known asthe Olympics of the Global ICT Industry, the summit was first held in 1978 by the World Information Technology & Services Alliance (WITSA).
WCIT 2018 edition was organised as a three-day event from (19th Feb to 21st Feb 2018). It was the first-ever to be conducted in India and Telangana was the state partner. It was hosted by the National Association of Software and Services Companies (NASSCOM).
