Karnataka Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy resigns after losing the Trust Vote in the Assembly.
HD Kumaraswamy served as 13-month-CM in the state representing JD(S)-Congress coalition government.
Karnataka Governor Vajubhai Vala accepted his resignation and asked him to continue as caretaker CM until further notice.
HD Kumaraswamy’s resignation comes after the coalition lost the Trust Vote moved by the former CM himself in the state Assembly.
HD Kumaraswamy managed to get just 98 votes, versus 105 against him.
BJP’s BS Yeddyurappa is soon expected to stake claim to form government in Karnataka.
