Union Ministry of Environment, Forests and Climate Change (MoEFCC) has launched ‘Green Good Deeds’ campaign.
Minister for Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Dr. Harsh Vardhan launched the campaign on 3rd February 2018, in New Delhi.
Green Good Deeds is a people-oriented campaign aimed at aware or sensitise people and students, particularly about climate change and global warming.
Dr. Harsh Vardhan addressing to the teaching community also appealed them to join the “Green Good Deeds” campaign with an objective to protect and return clean- green environment to next generation.
Dr. Harsh Vardhan informed that the campaign focuses to broaden its base with the significant involvement of teachers, students and other voluntary organisations. He said a mobile application named ‘Dr. Harsh Vardhan’ has been developed and launched recently to reach out to people across India on the campaign.
Dr. Harsh Vardhan also referred to the vital role played by Polio Sainiks from municipal corporation schools in the Pulse Polio campaign. He highlighted the need for “Green Sainiks” to broad-base the Green Good Deeds movement and to take it down to the grassroots level successfully.
