Faster adoption & Manufacturing of Hybrid & Electric Vehicle (Fame-II) scheme was launched by Government of India,to improvise the development of Electric .
For this phase II government has allocated a budget of Rs. 10,000 Cr. The sheme was launched to achieve the goals of National Electric Mobility Mission Plan (NEMMP).
Phase-I was from 2015-2019 and phase IIwas from 2019 and is expected to be completed by 2022.
The Central Government has increased the subsidy under the second phase of the Fame India Scheme on electric two-wheelers by 50%.
The subsidy of Rs.10,000 per kWh is now of Rs.15,000 per kWh.Additionally ,the cap on subsidy for electric two wheeler is raised to 40% from 20% .
And this support of government to elecronic Vehicles -EVs will make the electric
Two wheelers more affordable & this will greatly benefit the electronic motorcycle & scooter customers.
Sustainable mobility solutions is very important & this will encourage further indigenous investments in future technology.
Allocation of Rs.10,000 Cr. for a period of 3yrs from 2019-2022.Rs.1,000 Cr are set up for charging vehicles.
The Central Government will incentivize the purchase of approx. 5 lakh three wheelers,7000 electric Buses and 35,000 four wheelers.
It's Monitoring authority is Department of Heavy industries & the Ministry of Heavy industries & Public enterprises.
