Samarth Scheme ( An Government Initiative) : Objectives and features
For the capacity Building in the Textile , Samarth Scheme is implemented under the Ministry of Textiles.
The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) approved it in 2017.
Its target sector is Organized & Traditional Sector.
The Scheme will provide National Skills Framework Qualification (NSFQ)skilling programmes to over 10lakh people.
The Scheme aims to create more jobs in the textiles and textile related sectors ,that will cover the entire value chain of textiles but will exclude
Weaving & Spinning.Traditionals Sectors (including handlooms ,handcrafts,sericulture & jute) are supposed to be upgraded and though it aims to induce
Self employment capabilities among youth & others.
*Training of Trainers(ToT).
*Aadhar Enable Biometric Attendence System (AEBAS).
*CCTV recording of training programmes.
*Helpline no. services.
Note : Indian Textile Industry contributes about 4% in the GDP and around 14% of Industrial Production comes from textile Industry.
