Mission Covid Suraksha: A Government Initiative launched to restrict Covid-19

 

 

Mission Covid Suraksha : launch Date, Objectives and COVID-19 Vaccines

This mission was launched by government of India,it was a development program for Indian Candidate Researchers working on the COVID-19 vaccines.

The government of India has sanctioned Rs 900 Cr. for a period of 12 months, for the phase-I of the Mission COVID Suraksha. In this mission,10 vaccine candidates have been supported by

DBT till now ,alongwith taking care of the vaccine and to restrict its spread.

The grant for R&D of the Indian COVID-19 vaccine will be provided by the Department of Biotechnology (DBT).

Objectives of Mission Covid Suraksha

It will fund the candidate vaccines with their testing ,manufacturing,licensing & distribution in markets.

It will strengthen the existing laboratories & will establish clinical trail sites.

The other key element of the mission is Target Product Profile and this will ensure that the

Vaccines being introduced throughout the mission have preferred characteristics applicable to India.

Candidates for COVID-19 Vaccines

A number of 10vaccines were created to across the world to restrict the spread of Novel Coronavirus.Few of them are mentioned below:-

Sputnik V :- First vaccine approved & ready to use was named after the first artifical Earth Satellite Sputnik-I. This vaccine was registered by Russia.

Covaxin:- It has been developed by Bharat Biotech in association with Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR).

ZyCoV-D :- This is an Indian Vaccine developed by a pharmaceutical company, named Zydus in association with the National Biopharma Mission of DBT.

Apart from the above mentioned ,there are few other vaccine,not so successful like AZD1222,Ad5-nCoV,Ad26.COV2.S,CoVLPs
