India Metro City Bengaluru To Get Electric Vehicles Charging Stations

 

 

Bengaluru becomes the first Metro City To Get 11 fast track EV Charging Stations in public

The Government of Karnataka has initiated to set up Electric Vehicle charging stations across the Bengaluru city.

Bengaluru city has the highest number of electric car owners in India, with over 6,000 electric vehicles.

Karnataka Energy Minister, DK Shiva Kumar informed that in the first phase, the government is charging is planning to install 11 fast track public charging points for e-vehicles.

DK Shiva Kumar further added the first charging point will be inaugurated on 15th February 2018. It is located at the KR Circle at Bescom’s corporate office.

DK Shiva Kumar also informed the government will complete the first phase of installing 11 fast track charging stations within 6 months and each vehicle can be charged in about 25 to 30 minutes.Earlier, the Indian government has also announced that India will be fully electric vehicle nation by 2030.

At present, Mahindra is the only manufacturer that commercially sells electric vehicles in India. In the future, car manufacturers like Tata, Maruti Suzuki, Toyota and Hyundai have plans to launch electric versions of vehicles in the Indian market soon.
