Mission for Integrated Development of Horticulture (MIDH): Strategies and Activities

To adopt an end-to-end comprehensive approach covering pre-production,productive,post-harvest management,processing,marketing and others to

Ensure appropriate returns to farmers/producers.Extension of suitable technology for farmers for high-tech horticulture including protected cultivation and

precision farming. Promotion of Farmer Producer Organisations and their tie-up with Market Aggregators (MAs) and Financial Institutions (FIs) to 

Support and provide sufficient returns to farmers. And support human resource development at all levels .Diversification from traditional crops to

Plantations,bamboo,vineyards,orchards,flowers,vegetable gardens etc. 

Activities of MIDH

*Establishment nurseries,tissue culture units for producing quality seeds & planting material.

*Horticulture ,Organic farming and certification.

*Bee-keeping for pollination.

*Expand of area,i.e. setting up new orchards and gardens for flowers,vegetables,and flowers;and also the rejuvenation of unproductive and old orchards.

*A kind of protected cultivation,i.e. polyhouse,green-house etc.To better the productivity & grow off-season high-value vegetables & flowers.

*To create a post-market management & marketing infrastructure.
