IT minister Shri Ravi Shankar Prasad launched today 'Chunauti' – a Next-Generation Technology Competition Contest, aimed at promoting innovative tech and start-ups based on Indian Tier-II cities. For the three-year duration of this project, the government has approved a budget of Rs. 95.03 Crore. It aims to find about 300 start-ups in some areas and provide them with seed funds up to Rs. 25 Lakh and additional facilities.
The Technology and IT Ministers welcome start-ups in the following fields of operations to take part in this challenge:
Various government supports via the Indian Software Technology Parks of India centers will be given to startups chosen by Chunauti. They are provided with incubation, mentoring, compliance monitoring, access to venture capitalist finance, links with business and legal advisories, human resources ( HR), IPR, and patents. In addition to a seed fund of up to Rs 25 Lakh, leading cloud service providers will also provide start-ups with cloud credits. Beginning businesses in the ideation process are entitled to up to six months to build a business strategy and strategies in the sense of the new project under the pre-incubation scheme.
