Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh launched two different portals to strengthen women security in New Delhi on September 20, 2018.
The government has taken several steps to prevent crime against women and children. These include the provision of strict punishment and creation of modern forensic facilities to improve the investigation, setting up of women's security division in the Home Ministry case and introducing safe city projects for the protection of women.
Portal "cybercrime.gov.in" will receive complaints from citizens on objectionable online content related to sexually explicit material like child pornography, child sexual abuse imagery, misbehavior, and gang rape.
The second portal will effectively assist the National Database on sex offenders (NDSO), which is accessible only to law enforcement agencies, to detect sexual crimes and to investigate matters
This is a central database on 'sex offenders' in the country, which will be maintained by the NCRB for regular monitoring and it will be tracked by the State Police.
On this occasion, Rajnath Singh said that to ensure the speedy justice to the victims, the police must face challenges facing the grassroots level.
