The ASEAN India Film Festival started on 25th May 2018 in New Delhi. The festival was inaugurated by Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Col. Rajyavardhan Rathore.
The ASEAN India Film Festival event is organised by the Directorate of Film Festivals in collaboration with the Ministry of External Affairs (ASEAN Multilateral Division) as part of the series of events to commemorate the 25 years of ASEAN and India relations.
The ASEAN India Film Festival is a six-day event scheduled to be held from 25th May to 30th May 2018 in New Delhi.
The ASEAN India Film Festival is a non-competitive event celebrated with a tagline of ‘Friendship through Films’.
The ASEAN India Film Festival aims to provide access to new trends in filmmaking by providing the platform for an exchange of ideas, culture and experiences in the field of cinema.
The Government of India with this ASEAN India Film Festival event focuses to share historical and cultural links between India & ASEAN. Govt of India is also taking steps to promote film festivals from ASEAN, BRICS and European countries.
The ASEAN India Film Festival will showcase around 32 films from 11 countries. Apart, the Festival will also panel discussions on the various aspect of cinema.
The Jassari Movie Sinjar became the opening film for the ASEAN India Film Festival.
