The Government of India approved to provide pulses through post offices across the country at the subsidiced prices.
The pulses and other products on which the government provided subsidies are been charged at high prices or it has been stored and sells it at normal prices by the middle men.
The main purpose of this decision is to remove the shortage of pulses especially Urad, Chana, Tur etc. during this festive season.
This wide network of Post office includes 1.54 lakh of post office in the country which will enable the consumers to buy at subsidised prices directly from the government.
The committee also decided to release more stock of gram especially Chana to supply at reasonable prices during the festive season.
The Government will be supplying sugar, pulses and other commodities at reasonable prices through post offices.
