Google’s Doodle marks the 115th birthday anniversary of India's social reformer Kamladevi Chattopadhyay on 3rd April 2018.
Kamladevi Chattopadhyay was an Indian social reformer and political activist.She had participated in India’s freedom struggle against British Rule.
Google’s Doodle honors ‘Kamladevi Chattopadhyay’ depicting an artwork of her works, and also in memoir for her views on women's rights issues which are indeed inspirational & relevant in the present modern time.
Kamladevi Chattopadhyay also became the first Indian woman to establish a political office. She founded the All-India Women's Conference (AIWC).
Kamladevi Chattopadhyay after India’s independence, she had worked for refugees’ cause, uniform civil code, child marriage and woman empowerment. She also wrote several books.
Kamladevi Chattopadhyay also contributed to establishing cultural institutions like National School of Drama (NSD), World Crafts Council and Sangeet Natak Academy.
Kamladevi Chattopadhyay was born on 3 April 1903 in Mangalore and died at the age of 85 years on 29th October 1988.
Kamladevi Chattopadhyay also received highest civilian awards Padma Bhushan and Padma Vibhushan Award from Government of India.
