The Goa government signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Portugal in the field of water supply, waste water management and sanitation for a period of 2 years.
The MoU was signed between Goa Public Works Department Minister Sudin Dhavalikar and Portugal’s Minister of Environment Joao Pedro de Matos Fernandes.
Under the MoU, projects would include Opa water supply projection in North Goa, Sewage water treatment plant in Valpoi and Manganese-removal efforts in Selaulim Reservoir.
Focus areas of the projects are Asset management procedure and standards, Energy Management, Water supply operation, and energy efficiency, Resource valorisation, waste-water, and sewerage planning, management, and Technological solutions.
