The Union Minister of Social Justice and Empowerment, Shri Krishna Pal Gujjar inaugurated the Global IT Competition 2018 for Divyang Youth in New Delhi on November 09, 2018.
The three-day program that runs from November 9-11, 2018, was organized by the Department of Divasangan Empowerment (DEPWD), Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment with the support of Rehabilitation International (RI), Korea and its subsidiary LG Electronics.
The objective of this program is to develop IT skills in Divya Youth and to increase the awareness of the application of information technology and computer technology to improve the quality of life of the people of Divya.
More than 100 young people with vision Divyaangata, Shravan Divyangata, Loco Motor Divyaanta, and Developmental Disorders (intellectual inefficiency / MR) are participating in this program.
Actually, young people from 18 countries - Indonesia, China, Vietnam, Malaysia, Thailand, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Nepal, Mongolia, Cambodia, Laos, Philippines, Korea, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, United Arab Emirates, India and Britain are participating in this program.
India has nominated 12-day-old youth to participate in this competition.
These youths have been selected on the basis of national IT competitiveness, which was run by the National Institute of Technology, Kurukshetra.
India is participating in this competition since 2013 and winning the prize.
Last year the program was held in Vietnam.
