Union Power Minister, Piyush Goyal is to launch GARV-II app on Tuesday to ensure transparency in implementation of rural electrification programme.
The earlier version of GARV mobile phone application provided data about rural electrification regarding 18,452 un-electrified villages whereas the new one, GARV-II is to provide data of all six lakh villages of the country.
The status of release of funds to the states for projects sanctioned under Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Gram Jyoti Yojana (DDUGJY) is also included in GARV-II.
GARV-II is to have citizen engagement window ‘SAMVAD’ to upgrade the public participation and their feedbacks will be automatically forwarded to concerned Managing Directors and Superintending Engineers of DISCOMs via SMS and Emails on their dashboard.
