The Ministry of Environment Forest climate change has given its in-principle stage-I forest clearance for the construction of the Kaleshwaram project in Mahadevpur Mandal in Bhoopalpally district in Telangana.
The ministry has approved the diversion of about 3, 200 hectares of forest land for the project construction based on the recommendations of the Forest Advisory Committee (FAC).
The ministry Allowed diversion of the forest land spread over eight forest diversion including Mahadevpur, Karimnagar-Sircilla, Siddipet, Yadadri, Medak, Nizamabad, Banswada, and Nirmal for taking up the project work
The proposed project includes construction of Canals, Tunnels, lift systems, surge pools, delivery cisterns and reservoirs in different districts of the state.
