Maharashtra and Haryana state assembly elections dates were announced by the Chief Election Commissioner of India, Sunil Arora which will be held on 21st October 2019 and the results will be declared on 24 October 2019.
Maharashtra and Haryana will witness elections polling in a single phase.
With this, the Election Commission of India has implemented the 'Election Code of Conduct' which every political party and its candidate have to follow till the election gets over.
Model Code of Conduct states to a set of guidelines issued by the Election Commission of India to regulate political parties and candidates prior to elections. It was first introduced in the assembly elections in Kerala in 1960.
Model Code of Conduct (MCC) comes into effect from the date the election schedule is announced and will be in force until the date that results are out.
Model Code of Conduct contains eight provisions dealing with general conduct, meetings, processions, polling day, polling booths, observers, the party in power, and election manifestos.
