National Unity Day or Rashtriya Ekta Diwas:31 October 2021

National Unity Day or Rashtriya Ekta Diwas 2021 31st October, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel's birthday is celebrated on 31st October. Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel was instrumental in bringing India together. He is also known as India's Iron Man and one of the Republic of India's founding leaders.

History and Significant Of this day

Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched Rashtriya Ekta Diwas in 2014 by paying respect to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel's statue and launching a programme called 'Run For Unity in New Delhi. Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel's contribution to Indian history was celebrated with a run for unity.

The Importance of Rashtriya Ekta Diwas

The day provides "a chance to re-affirm the inherent strength and resilience of our nation to withstand the real and potential challenges to our country's unity, integrity, and security," according to a statement from the Home Ministry.

Because India is such a diverse country, maintaining unity is critical. In honor of the Iron Man of India, the Indian government has erected a massive statue of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel beside the Narmada River in Gujarat.
