Indian Police Service (IPS) officer Neelamani N Raju has appointed as the first women Director General and Inspector General of Police (DG-IGP) of Karnataka on 31 October 2017.
Neelamani N Raju is a 1983-batch Indian Police Service officer. Previously she was serving as the Director General of Police-Internal Security.
Neelamani N Raju succeeds RK Dutta, who retired from the service following his superannuation.
Neelamani N Raju will retire in January 2020 and will serve as the Karnataka’s Police Chief for over 2 years.
