Cabinet approves establishment of NAD system for digital awards

 

 

Cabinet approves National Academic Depository (NAD) within 3 months, operationalised with NDML and CVL

The Union Cabinet headed by PM Narendra Modi has given its approval for the establishment of National Academic Depository (NAD) within three months.

National Academic Depository will be operationalized NSDL Database Management Limited (NDML) and CDSL Ventures Limited (CVL).

This will promote Digital India Movement as the academic degrees will be digitally available for verification of single spot.

Academic Institutions will be uploading all the documents in digital form through NAD system

NAD will provide digital copy of the academic awards with security features to the students or authorised users.

NAD will also verify the academic awards initiated by any authorised user.

The requests for access to academic awards will be on the basis of the consent of the owner.

It will also train and facilitate academic institutions to lodge academic awards efficiently.
