Delhi Police has launched 'All Women Patrolling Squad' in South Delhi for ensuring additional women safety. It was launched on 7th March 2018, on the occasion of International Women’s Day.
The Delhi Police 'All Women Patrolling Squad' initiative was launched for raising & strengthening the confidence of girls and women moving on the roads or at public places.
The Delhi Police 'All Women Patrolling Squad' initiative will also encourage and motivate female police personnel by making the system more comprehensive for them and putting them as the pro-active front of field policing.
The 'All Women Patrolling Squad' female police personnel have been armed with Four-Geared Motorcycle, Gypsy with a woman police officer as driver and women incharge to lead the patrol team, Wireless Sets, Protection Team and Necessary Firearms.
The 'All Women Patrolling Squad' female police personnel enlisted are experience in field policing with specialized training in driving, riding and in the maintenance of the squad vehicles. The patrol squad has also been given training in weapon handling, firing, rampage handling, rescuing and counter attacks.
The 'All Women Patrolling Squad' will mainly focus on areas like Colleges, Schools, Metro Stations, Public Places, Markets/Malls and Parks etc.
The South Delhi areas include Sarojini Nagar Market, Select City Mall, Hauz Khas Village, Kamla Nehru, Gargi College will be at keen vision (24x7) of Women Patrolling Squads.
