Justice Bhandari was first time elected in April 2012 for International Court of Justice which is situated Hague in the Netherlands. Justice Bhandari terms running through February 2018.
India re-nominates Justice Bhandari for ICJ in front of United Nations General Secretary Antonio Guterres. The ICJ election will held in November 2017 if Justice Bhandari get elected then he will serve a term of 9 years as judge at ICJ.
Justice Bhandari given his opinion in 11 cases covering a broad spectrum of subject such as maritime disputes, whaling in Antarctica, crime of genocide, delimitation of continental shelf, nuclear disarmament, financing of terrorism and violation of sovereign rights.
Justice Dalveer Bhandari was a senior judge in the Supreme Court of India.
Before joining the ICJ Justice Dalveer Bhandari was a judge in the higher judiciary in India for more than 20 years.
