The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) on 19th January 2018, has introduced ‘Cyber Surakshit Bharat’ an initiative to consolidate cybersecurity ecosystem in India.
Cyber Surakshit Bharat initiative was inaugurated by Minister of State for Electronics & Information Technology and Tourism, K J Alphons.
Cyber Surakshit Bharat has been launched to fulfill the Government’s vision for a ‘Digital India’, devised in confederation with National e-Governance Division (NeGD) and Industry partners from IT companies such as Microsoft, Intel, WIPRO, Redhat and Dimension Data, Knowledge partners as NIC, NASSCOM and FIDO Alliance and leading consultancy firms Deloitte and EY.
Cyber Surakshit Bharat is the first public-private partnership in India.
Cyber Surakshit Bharat will be operated on the three principles of Awareness, Education, and Enablement.
Cyber Surakshit Bharat main objective is to spread awareness about cybercrime and building capacity for safety measures for Chief Information Security Officers (CISOs) and frontline IT staff across all Government departments.
Cyber Surakshit Bharat will also conduct training programs nationwide; participants would be CISOs and technical officials from Central Government, State Governments, UTs, PSBs, PSUs and Defence forces, PSUs and technical arms of Air Force, Army, and Navy.
