Ayushman Sahakar Scheme was launched by the National Cooperative Development Corporation (NCDC) under the
Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare on 19 October 2020.
This scheme assists cooperatives in various ways to play an important role in Healthcare infrastructure in the country.
Under this scheme ,NCDC would extend term loans to prospective cooperatives to the tune of Rs. 10,000 Crore in the upcoming years.
It was established by an Act of Parliament in 1963 as a statutory corporation under the Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare.
NCDC has extended loan arround of Rs. 1.60 Lakh Crore to cooperatives.
It's main function is planning,promoting and financing programmes and schemes for the
production,processing,marketing,storage,import & export of products.
Any cooperative society related to healthcare can easily access the NCDC fund and
To meet the requirements ,working capital and margin money will be provided by the corporation.
The key objectives of the scheme introduced by the Government are:
-With the help of cooperative societies ,to assist the promotion of AYUSH.
-To assist cooperative societies to meet the Objectives of National Health Policy.
-To assist the cooperative societies to participate in the National Digital Health Mission.
-And alongwith all the above factors,it also assists cooperative societies to provide education,services,insurance & other healthcare.
-There is a ray of hope of increase in the healthcare services after the implementation of this scheme.
-Scheme and the National Digital Health Mission are in line with each other to bring transformation in rural areas.
-The scheme covers Modernization , Renovation of Hospital , Healthcare & Education:
*Yoga Wellness Centres , Allopathy and other medicine healthcare centres.
*Healthcare for mentally challenged and disable weak persons.
*Digital Health Services
*Emergency Medical Services
