The Government of India has declared to end the scheme to not fail students till class eight in Government schools.
The Human Resource and Development Ministry declares that students should not be failed in Government colleges only till class eight.
The Ministry believes that as there was restriction to pass the students till class eight, the students were getting undisciplined.
The Law Ministry has amended the section 16 of the Right to Education Act, 2008 as the proposal is based on the recommendation of a sub-committee and relates to matter of policy.
Children were becoming indisciplined as they feel that they will be promoted and have no fear of failing and thus, affecting the quality of education.
