The Election Commission of India declares 255 political parties invalid including eight political parties of Bihar.
The Election Commission has written to Central Board of Direct Taxes to check the finances of these political parties.
Election Commission also stated that if these political parties will be found guilty then strict actions will be taken under Representation Act, 1951 Section 29B and 29C.
Out of 255 invalid parties all over the country, 55 political parties are of New Delhi, 41 of Uttar Pradesh, 30 of Tamil Nadu and 24 of Maharashtra.
The Election Commission came to know that from 2005 to 2015, these political parties have not even stand in elections.
The Election Commission has taken the decision as political parties are exempted from taxes, therefore, the invalid political parties were enjoying the exemption.
