Govenrment changes rules in Passport Rule, 1980, new rules laid

 

 

Government laid down rules to obtain passport easily, especially single mothers and orphaned children

Government of India changes brings up with certain steps to ease to obtain the passport by single mothers and orphaned children.

Some changes have been made by the government which includes no requirement of birth certificate in the Application process.

The Ministry of External Affairs announced that passport related grievances should be handled on the social media platform like Twitter

The annexures have been brought from 15 to nine under Passport rules, 1980 and the annexures will be in the form of self-declaration on the plain paper.

The new rules laid down will enable faster processing for married applicants as they can apply without attaching marriage certificates.

The passport application does not require the name of spouse in case of separated or divorces persons and these applicants will not even supposed to submit divorce decree.
