Badanpur Village in Hamirpur District, Uttar Pradesh becomes Open Defecation Free, toilets being constructed in each home
The Government of India has been spreading awareness regarding Swachh Bharat to free India from open Defecation and day by day many villages and states are adding to Open Defection Free under Swachh Bharat.
The district administration has been running several awareness camps to free the village from open defecation and as a result the villagers like the idea and decided to go for Open defecation Free.
As a part of Swachh Bharat Mission, clean drinking water facilities also available in village
All the residents in the village are aware of the health and social implications and the disadvantages of open defecation.
The Badanpur village has made efforts to ensure clean drinking water by sinking 223 hand pumps.
The Badanpur village has also set up a committee to ensure that no one defecates in the open and uses the toilets build in homes.
