The Coimbatore City Municipal Corporation receives Digital India Silver Award which will be instituted by Ministry of Information and Electronics.
Coimbatore city receives the Digital India award for the category ‘Most Innovative Citizen Engagement’ for installing and implementing various wifi schemes in its various offices.
The award is presented by Minister of Information and Technology, Ravi Shankar Prasad and received by Corporation Commissioner and Special Officer, Dr. Vijay Kartikeyan on Monday.
The award for presented as Coimbatore Municipal Corporation leverages use of information and technology for active engagement of public in the process of governance.
This is the ninth award that the Coimbatore Municipal Corporation is receiving this year.
Digital India awards are given to those corporations that convert governing system digitally in terms of administrative and implementing works.
