Lt. Gen Bipin Rawat becomes New Army Chief on 31st Dec 2016

 

 

Indian Army Vice Chief Lt. Gen Bipin Rawat appointed as New Army Chief on Saturday, 31st December 2016

Lt. Gen Bipin Rawat to take the charge from the afternoon on 31st December 2016 after the retirement of present Army Chief Dalbir Singh.

Lt Gen Bipin Rawat is currently the Vice Chief of the Army and commissioned in the fifth Batallion of the eleventh Gorkha Rifles in December 1978.

Lt. Gen Bipin Rawat 10 years of exprience in surgical operations and LOC

26th Army Chief of India, Lt. Gen Bipin Rawat is an infantry officer and also heads in Kolkata-headquarter Eastern Command from the Armoured Corps.

The Defence Minister chose him to be the Army chief due to Bipin Rawat’s Merits and suitability in the post.
