International Migrants Day 18th December 2016 United Nations celebration

United Nations celebrate international Migrants Day on 18th December every year to act on the global compact on safe, regular and orderly Migration.

Due to easy transportation and communication, people have the desire and the caoacity to migrate to other places.

International Migrants Day first adopted in the year 2000

United Nations aims to create more dialogues and interactions with countries and regions as well as thrusting experience exchange and collaboration opportunities.

United Nations adopted this day on 18th December 2000 in the General Assembly of United Nations taking into account large and increasing migrants in the World.

Migrants Day is observed in many countries, government, non-government organisations to spread information on freedom and rights of migrants as well as sharing of experience and protection of migrants.

Several events are held to highlight the human rights of the migrants on International Migration Day.
