India enters India vs Belgium finals in Junior Hockey Cup 2016

 

 

India beats Australia in Junior Hockey World Cup by 4-2 via penalty shootout, reaches finals

The first two goals were secured by Gurjant singh in 42nd minute and Mandeep Singh in 57th minute and then both the teams were locked at 2-2.

In shootout round, goalkeeper Vikas Dahiya rose on the occasion and saved two goals of Australia’s Mathew Bird and Lachlan Sharp.

India to face Belgium in finals Junior Hockey World Cup 2016

Indians on the other hand were clinical in the shootout which find their way back of the net past Australian custodian.

In the match, Australia preferred to sit back and rely on counters to surprise the Indian team.

Indians have the best opportunity of the opening half of the next minute when Varun’sscoop from the deep found Simranjeet Singh unmarked inside the circle after Australian defender fumbled, but the striker pushed wide with only rival custodian to beat.

With this win, India secures position in Finals and face Belgium on Sunday.
