Jayalalithaa cremation last rites performed as per traditional rituals

The relatives of J Jayalalithaa performed last rites traditional rituals at Paschima Vahini on the banks of Cauvery river in the holy town of Srinangapatna on Tuesday.

They expressed that her soul may attain ‘Moksha’ as she was not cremated but was buried into the ground.

Cremation of a doll which meant to be Jayalalithaa replica

The Chief priest Ranganath Lyengar performed the last rites by cremation a doll who was meant to be her replica.

After the death if Jayalalithaa doubts were raised about the rituals being performed as per Hindu rites.

Some of Jayalalithaa’s relatives felt that Jayalithaa was the believer of Hindu religion and het last rites should be performed as per lyengar customs.
