The relatives of J Jayalalithaa performed last rites traditional rituals at Paschima Vahini on the banks of Cauvery river in the holy town of Srinangapatna on Tuesday.
They expressed that her soul may attain ‘Moksha’ as she was not cremated but was buried into the ground.
The Chief priest Ranganath Lyengar performed the last rites by cremation a doll who was meant to be her replica.
