Paolo Gentiloni New Prime Minister of Italy after Matteo Renzi

Italy has appointed Paolo Gentiloni new prime minister who holds his office and announced his new cabinet.

Paolo Gentiloni succeeds Matteo Renzi after resigning from the post of Prime Minister eight days ago due to referendum defeat.

Paolo Gentiloni is from Democratic Party

Paolo Gentiloni is a loyalist from Mr. Renzi’s Democratic Party and is expected to largely follow former administrator’s programme.

Paolo Gentiloni born in aristocratic family and worked as a journalist in a magazine.

Paolo Gentiloni is elected to the parliament in 2001 and Communication Minister from 2006-08.

Paolo Gentiloni was also elected as a foreign Minister in the year 2014.

President Sergio Mattarella on Sunday asked Paolo Gentiloni to form a new government that will guide Italy to elections that are due in February 2018.

Paolo Gentiloni addresses that there is an urgent need for the fully functioning government.
