Helen Marten wins Turner Prize 2016 awards $32,500

 

 

Artist Helen Marten wins Turner Prize 2016, the youngest of all other four nominees

Helen Martin is represented by galleries in London, Rome, Berlin and New York.

Helen was selected by Director of Hepworth Simon Wallis and the director of Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam, Beatrix Ruf as the judges.

Helen Marten to receive Turner Prize for $32,500as an award for her win and the other nominees will be awarded with $6,500

Helen Marten announced that she would be sharing the prize of $98,000 with her fellow nominees as art prizes were flawed to some extent.

Last month, Helen was awarded with Hepworth Prize for Sculpture by the Hepworth Wakefield in Yorkshire.

Turner Prize is awarded to the British artist of less than 50 years of age.

The youngest nominee on the shortlist is Helen Marten who uses sculpture, screen painting and writing to create her work.
