Google Doodle celebrates 340th anniversary of speed of light

 

 

Google Doodle celebrates the 340th anniversary of the determination of the speed of light on 7th December

The Danish Astronomer Ole Romer has discovered the fact that the light which travels can be measured.

Ole’s theory was the observance of how the timings of Jupiter’s moon eclipses has changed the depending on its distance from the Earth.

Ole Romer introduced oil lamp street lighting and proper sewers 

Danish Astronomer’s theory was supported by all the other astronomers which includes Isaac Newton and Edmond Halley.

Ole Romer also has a significant role in Coopehegan where he spent his early years and introduced oil lamp street lighting and proper sewers in the city.

Romer has also achieved in the invention of the mercury thermometer in the year 1709 which inspired the Daniel Gabreil Fahrenheit to invent the temperature scale.
