Pakistan appointed Mueenul Haq as the High Commissioner to India on 21st May 2019.
The appointment was made by Prime Minister Imran Khan while appointing ambassadors for various countries including China and Japan.
Mueenul Haq succeeds Sohail Mehmood who left the High Commissioner's post to join as Pakistan's foreign secretary.
Mueenul Haq a career diplomat, is currently serving as Ambassador to France.
Mueenul Haq has previously served as Chief of Protocol at the Foreign Office.
Mueenul Haq is believed to play a pivotal in promoting the soft image of Pakistan and will adopt the best behavior with the Pakistani community living in India and may develop nice relations with Indians diplomats as well.
