The Government of India declares 6th November as a National Holiday under Negotiable Instrument Act, 1881 to mark respect to J Jayalalithaa death.
Under the explanation to Section 25 of Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881 the Government of Tamil Nadu to include 6th December, 2016 as a National Holiday to mark respect to Selvi J Jayalalithaa, Honourable Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu.
6th December will also be treated as a paid holiday at all industrial employees to be charged on regular work and industrial units to be paid on monthly basis and labour hired on daily basis for the entire month.
The notification has been issued in Tamil Nadu Government Gazette dated 5th December 2016.
