Cricketers Rishabh Pant and Ambati Rayudu, who were not a part from India's 15-member squad for World Cup 2019, were on 17th April 2019 named among the standbys.
Fast bowler Navdeep Saini also found a place in the list of three back-ups for the mega-event starting in England and Wales on May 30th.
The services of standbys will be utilized in case of injury to any member of the 15-member squad.
India is scheduled to play their opening World Cup match on June 5 against South Africa in Southampton.
