World Heritage Day Celebrations 18th April 2019: India List Of Heritage Sites- 2019 Theme, Details, Importance, History

World Heritage Day is celebrated every year on 18th April around the world with the theme "Rural Landscapes" focusing on the rural monuments spreads all over the world.d

World Heritage Day celebrations aim to spread awareness importance of protecting and preserving various sites around the world that have achieved world heritage status and having outstanding universal values.

In India, the day celebrations were made by Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) and to mark this day it has kept no ticket for touring the historic monuments. These include monuments located in Agra, Aurangabad, Bangalore, Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Chandigarh, Chennai, Delhi, Dharwad, and Goa while there is a fee to roam here in the usual days. 

Some of India's important historical heritage and monuments include the Red Fort, Taj Mahal, Qutub Minar, and many more

World Heritage Day was proposed by the International Council on Monuments and Sites on 18th April 1982 and approved by the General Assembly of UNESCO in 1983.
