Reserve Bank of India to issue Rs.50 and Rs.20 new notes but notes issued earlier will be in legal tender.
The new note of Rs.50 will not contain inset letters in number panels and will contain the signature of governor of RBI as well as the printing year.
The new note of Rs.20 will contain the inset letter ‘L’ in both the numbers of the panel and the signature of RBI governor as well as the year.
The decision was taken by RBI after demonetisation of Rs.500 and Rs.1000 notes.
RBI has recently issued Rs.500 and Rs.2000 denomination new note which is currently circulated in the economy.
