India-Sri Lanka Joint Training Exercise 'MITRA SHAKTI-VI' 2019: Details, Aim, Significance, Highlights

India and Sri Lanka annual joint exercise, 'Mitra Shakti-VI', will be conducted from 26th March to 8th April 2019, for the year 2018-19 in Sri Lanka.

India and Sri Lanka annual joint exercise, 'Mitra Shakti-VI' will see the participation of the troops from 1st battalion of the Bihar Regiment, India and the Sri Lanka army would be represented by the Gemunu Watch Battalion.

India and Sri Lanka annual joint exercise, 'Mitra Shakti-VI' main aim is to build and promote close relations between armies of both the nations and to enhance the ability of joint exercise commander to take military contingents of both nations under command.

India and Sri Lanka annual joint exercise, 'Mitra Shakti-VI' will involve tactical level operations in an international counter-insurgency and counter-terrorism environment under the United Nations mandate. It is expected to act as a catalyst in bringing synergy and cooperation at grassroots levels between the armies of the two maritime neighbors.

India and Sri Lanka annual joint exercise, 'Mitra Shakti' is conducted every year as a part of military diplomacy and interaction between the armies of the two nations.
