The International Day of Happiness is a day to be happy, which is celebrated every year on 20th March across the world.
The International Day of Happiness is celebrated to recognize the significance of happiness in the lives of people around the world.
The International Day of Happiness-2019, Theme is ''Share Happiness and be Part of Something Amazing”.
The International Day of Happiness was founded by philanthropist and United Nations (UN) special advisor Jayme Illien. His campaign was conceptualized in order to inspire, mobilize, and advance the global happiness movement to which he suggested to senior UN officials in 2011.
The International Day of Happiness was first celebrated by UN member countries on 20th March 2013. on this day people are encouraged to share inspiring images on social platforms in order to spread the word and to take actions for making other people happy.
In 2015, the UN launched the 17 Sustainable Development Goals that focus to end poverty and reduce inequality in the world.
The United Nations released the World Happiness Report 2018 Index that has ranked 156 countries by their happiness levels and 117 countries by the happiness of their immigrants.
In the World Happiness Report 2018, Finland was ranked 1st and India was ranked 133rd.
