Indian Railways declares Senior Citizens to provide Aadhaar Card number at the time of ticket booking to avail the fare concession.
Railways has taken the decision as some of the people are using fraudulent means to get the fare concession.
It will be compulsory for senior citizens to provide Aadhar card number from 1st April 2017 ticket booking.
IRCTC is also planning to make compulsory for all the passengers to provide Aadhaar number at the time of ticket booking.
It will be beneficial as by just typing the number of Aadhaar card all the details will be shown and will not take much time at the time of online ticket booking.
This Aadhaar Card system will also reduce the task of ticket brokers as they will not be able to book tickets with any name and will not be able to sell tickets easily.
