Google’s Doodle honors women on International Women’s Day 8th March 2019

Search engine giant Google has marked the International Women’s Day with a colorful doodle on 8th March 2019.

Today Google doodle has featured the word ‘Woman’ written around the search engine’s logo in different languages, from Urdu, Hindi, and Bengali to Russian and Japanese.

Google doodle based on the theme of ‘Women Empowering Women’, the doodle featured quotes from trailblazers like Mexican artist Frida Kahlo, Japanese artist Yoko Ono, boxer Mary Kom, British-Iraqi architect Zaha Hadid, writer Chimamanda Ngozi Adiche, among others.

Google doodle was also designed by female guest artists from across the world.

International Women’s Day (IWD) is celebrated every year on 8th March across the world to highlight the achievements of women while calling for greater equality.

International Women’s Day 2019 theme as declared by the United Nations is "Better the Balance, Better the World" with campaign #BalanceforBetter is a call-to-action for driving gender balance across the world. 

International Women’s Day 2019 theme focuses on building a gender balance that drives a better working world.
