Breakthrough of the Year: Naomi Osaka (Japan) Tennis
Sportsperson of the Year With A Disability: Henrieta Farkkašová (Slovakia) Skiing
Action Sportsperson of the Year: Chloe Kim (USA) Snowboarding
Team of the Year: France World Cup Team (France) Football
Laureus Sporting Moment of the Year: Xia Boyu, China (Climbing Mount Everest)
Academy Exceptional Achievement Award: Eliud Kipchoge, Kenya
Lifetime Achievement Award: Arsène Wenger, France.
Spirit for Sports Award: Lindsey Vonn, (USA)
Sport For Good Award: Yuwa (India)
NGO Yuwa works specifically with girls from impoverished families in rural Jharkhand. The NGO uses team sports and education to build character, confidence, and courage.
NGO Yuwa was founded in 2009 when American Franz Gastler moved to Jharkhand from Delhi. The NGO Yuwa has been awarded the Laureus Sport for Good Award for the year 2019. The Laureus Sport for Good Award honors the achievements of those who have demonstrated a tremendous contribution to the sport or to society through sport.
