President Kovind Presents Rabindranath Tagore Award for Cultural Harmony Awards: Details, Aim, Significance, History

Indian President Ram Nath Kovind presented the Rabindranath Tagore Award for Cultural Harmony on 18th February 2019 at a function held in Pravasi Bhartiya Kendra, New Delhi.

The Rabindranath Tagore Award for Cultural Harmony Awardees Are:

1. Shri Rajkumar Singhajit Singh for the year 2014
2. Chhayanaut (a cultural organization of Bangladesh) for the year 2015
3. Shri Ram Sutar Vanji for the year for 2016

The Rabindranath Tagore Award was instituted by the Union Government in 2012 to recognize the contributions made by Rabindranath Tagore to humanity at large with his works and ideas, as part of the commemoration of his 150th Birth Anniversary, for promoting values of cultural harmony. 

The Rabindranath Tagore Awards are conferred annually and carries an amount worth Rs one crore, citation in a scroll, a plaque and an exquisite traditional handicraft and handloom item. 

The Rabindranath Tagore Award is given to individuals, associations, institutions or organisations for their outstanding contribution towards promoting values of cultural harmony. 

The Rabindranath Tagore Awards is open to all persons regardless of nationality, race, language, caste, creed or gender.
