Budget 2019: Piyush Goyal presents Interim Budget in Lok Sabha- Major Highlights

The Interim Budget presented by acting Finance Minister Piyush Goyal on 1st Feb 2019 marks a revolutionary step in the policy directions that the government headed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has given in its last before 2019 General Elections.

1. Fiscal deficit for 2018/19 seen at 3.4% of GDP

2. Poor farmers to get 6,000 per year under PM Kisan scheme  

3. Unorganised labor to get 3,000 per month after the age of 60 under the mega pension scheme 

4. No income tax for income up to 5,00,000

5. Salary earners up to 5,00,000 annual income to get a full tax rebate 

6. Standard deduction to be raised from 40,000 to 50,000

7. SC, ST welfare to get 76,800 crore FY20

8. No tax if you own the second house &  No tax on notional rent on the second house 

9. Central government to alone support PM Kisan scheme 

10. Capital gains tax exemption under Section 54 raised to2 crore 

Impression: Government of India, has focussed majorly on Farmers and Middle-Class Families. It is expected to boost Indian economy.
