The 27th edition of New Delhi World Book Fair has begun on 5th January 2019 at the Pragati Maidan, New Delhi. It is scheduled to get held till 13th January 2019.
The theme of the 27th edition of the New Delhi World Book Fair is “Readers with special needs”. This theme has been chosen to generate emotions of not sympathy but respect and equality.
It was inaugurated by Union Human Resource Development Minister Prakash Javadekar. The UAE’s third largest emirate Sharjah is the guest of honor for the New Delhi World Book Fair.
27th World Book Fair will showcase an exclusive exhibition of Braille books, audio books, integrated print-braille books and books for people and children with different disabilities will be showcased in the Fair’s theme pavilion.
An International Disability Film Festival “We Care” has also been organised where 45 films from 27 countries would be screened.
To commemorate the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, an exhibition of books on and by Gandhi and his associates will also be put up at the book fair.
